Master cylinder and calliper pistons used to be made from cylindrical ground steel, which almost always would corrode in the hydroscopic brake fluid. It's not so bad on the callipers but almost always as a result the master cylinder bore would be scorn and therefore need sleeving. Nowadays pistons are made from anodised aluminium and therefore don't suffer nearly anywhere near such corrosion. Using a stainless sleeve has proven to work very well. That together with re-anodising the callipers & master cylinder provide for a great restored part.
Broken calliper bleed nipples (M6 x 1 thread) are re-seated and tapped to M7 x 1. Trying to recover the M6 thread is usually not a good result even if successful and the M7 nipple is far stronger and hard to notice the difference. If your callipers a excessively corroded please don't try to remove the bleeder nipples yourself. We have a lot of experience in doing this and rarely have one break.

I started out in industry as a toolmaker having completed an apprenticeship with GM-H in Port Melbourne, Victoria, in 1986. It was a great place to learn the trade with so many faculties of manufacturing all together in the one place. Not long after I became involved in CNC machining and 3D CAD modelling/design work. About the same time I purchase my first few Ducati motorcycles, a 1980 model Darmah and a 1975 model 750 SS. It was during the restoration of the SS that my first rubber mould was made, the rubber boot for the red Ducati Electronica transducers, and thus the start of BEVEL RUBBER. Today we have a few hundred different parts in our regular production schedule and still growing, not to mention distributing wholesale to shops Australia wide and internationally. Thank you to all the great friends and interactions I have had over the years in making these parts, for the bikes to which we are all very passionate about.
